I have a koi pond that has a very powerful UV filter that sanitizes the water pretty well.
I am wondering if I could use some of that water to start a culture of phyto.
Any thought you could share would be welcome

I also have a koi pond, and I would say no. There's not just biological contamination, there's a mineral balance that's pretty 'off' from marine.
