Phytoplankton

im an addict lol
Does anyone else culture your own phyto? I had been using the f2 to feed the cultures. A small bottle was like $10 lasts 6 months but I found the product dry for a good price that makes many gallons worth instead of small 16 oz bottles. So if anyone needs f2 let me know. I got more then I can use.

U just need a starter culture. Lights to grow it, timers for the lights, air pump to circulate the phyto in the bottles, some air line tubing and some hard tubing. Light it for 16 hours a day watch it get darker each day. Then it is ready to use. Just use half of it or refrigerate half of it. Refill the half u took out of the bottle and feed it. then put back in front of the light that's it

Do you use the phyto in your tank for corals or feed it to something else like pods? Just curious... Also, what is F2? A type of fertilizer?

So its kinda like hatching brine shrimp but theres more and more every time!

I would love 1. How big and what color?

about 14" open. I really think it would be a bad move on your part to put this one in your tank. As I said before I have kept carpets for 15 years and he was well feed. Its funny because it was sold to me from someone else because it kept eating his fish and I thought ok he is not feeding it enough. I will admit that when it ate the male I might not have feed him in a week but after the male I was on it feeding every other day. Normally about 10 krill or a good chunk of LRS reef mix. I really think this nem has a taste for live fish. He is darker green to blue depending on the lighting
