That is indeed a little bubble algae on the frag. You would never otherwise see that in my tank...

If I were you I would take the frag out, remove the bubble algea, and rinse well before putting it back in the tank.

Thanks for all the comments. Last couple pics are of the front of the tank, right side and left side. As I am sure this thread is getting a little old... I will be starting one on Canada's SPS tanks shortly.

250G, do you quarantine newly acquired frags (like treating for potential AEFW and Red-Bug infections) before placing them in your display tank?

Thanks agro.

I do not quarantine for a set period in a separate tank, however I do treat all frags coming and going from the tank with Seachem Coral Dip. Just let them sit for apx. 15M in a gallon of tank water and a cap or two of Coral Dip. May consider the Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure now that it is available in Canada.

Red bugs are rampant here, but are easily treated - AEFW are far less common, at least in Canada. I have not experienced any significant damage as a result of pests to date - knock on wood.

I bought a kalc reactor today...rather than dosing through a bucket. I hear they are great and a very efficient use of kalc.

Anyone using kalc here on a dosing pump? In additon to a calc reactor? I really want to get my PH up it was 7.8 this morning I will post a pic of the new unit in operation shortly.

Thanks ycnibrc - no shortage of red and pink in my tank. Recently had to add some greens...

Picked up a couple pieces over the holidays, and the frag with the pink polyps I posted a while back seems to be taking on an olive base.

Also picked up an Octopus Kalc Reactor Model kr140. Looking forward to it maintaining my PH a little higher and helping out with ca and alk as things seem to be growing at a pretty steady rate now.

Hey, I'm just beginning my adventure into SPS corals. Could you pretty please list the names of the corals in your first two posts on page 1? I would REALLY appreciate that! I really like your taste in corals.

I am also in Canada, but in BC. Where do you get your frags from? I read the whole thread, but didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I am having a hard time finding any corals with anything other than green or brown colors!!!

Also, what is Zeo?
