Picasso offspring

Got my pair and they are beautiful!! (Blue Ribbon Koi)
They are offspring from the ORA pair, but not designated as "true" Picasso's as per ORA. Nonetheless, they are gorgeous and could be sold as true Picassos if someone really wanted to!!!

If you really want a prize winning fish in your tank, then get a pair of "true" Picassos. If you want a beautiful fish without paying the extra $200 for the pair, then get offspring. I'm super happy...
By the way, John at Blue Ribbon Koi described them to the tee before shipping them. He was dead on!

Must say that its only been a week or so and the color on these guys is awesome. Alot of the orange around the white is getting blk. Illl post some pics if they let me:)

Sorry, no pics yet. I tried reading a thread on how to post pics a while back and it gave me a headache!! It seemed like an unnecessarily difficult procedure to load a pic...
I'll try checking it out again.

One of my Picassos is developing more black too. The other is still orange/yellowish and white.
If the first one keeps developing black like it appears he will, then he will look like a "True" Picasso!!!

Disney got their clowns from ORA, those are all ORA clowns.

Yes, ORA sent a tank of very small Percula for the Mariculture Display at The Living Seas. This larval tank had at least one spawn from a "picasso" pair.

I've been to see them at least twice now and they have grown up nicely. As you can see, only a very low percentage of each "batch" turn out to be "Picasso".

^ I have been in touch with ORA, trying to find out the diffrence if any with Picassos and "extra blobbies". I am also on the hunt for another, my male jumped in the middle of the night through a tiny crack in the lid. DEVASTATED! :(
