Picasso Onyx Pair

Thanks jov, the little one has white string waste comming out of him now. I believe that I do indeed have brook between that and the rapid breathing. Can you agree on that or are there other possiblities.

Thanks again

That could very well be internal parasites, but it could also be just from no food for so long after being collected. If you have medication start treating their food, for some reason the name of the meds. excapes me at this moment :(

white stringy feces is usually indicative of internal parasites. I would have treated for these as Scott and Adrian both suggested before I went right to formalin.

Very cool, I just graduated from Western Mich Univ. So your all the way in Cai....but your brother went to K-college? Were you from this area?

I am soaking some mysis in metronidazole. I took the tank water put it in a cup, then the pill and after letting the pill take to the water I add the mysis.
I guess I'm just going to strain the mysis the best I can and get it to them because they both are still eating.

Sound about right??

they are both still eating. the female has got better however still has increased breathing. The male is looking good also, still a little stringy poop but i'm treating the food with meds so hopefully that will work out. After the formalin dip yesterday they both should increased signs of stress, but this morning they seem more at ease, I'll take some pictures later.

They probably had multipul problems. I dont think internal parasites would cause them to breath heavy before showing other signs first.

How are they doing now? Its been a few days with no updates.

They are doing much better. I fixed the internal issuses the fish were having, now just stablizing my water quality. The reason for their labored breathing was the ammonia levels in the aquarium.
