I looked for one for years too. I finally just bit the bullet one day when RHS had one, I think that was 2008 or 2009? Somewhere around then.
That guy looks to be in good shape. In the photo, the white splotch next to the clown's mouth, when mertens are happy, they will lose the white coloration. Mine gets those white splotches instantly when it's upset or stressed (rock falling onto it, moving it, anything that upsets it). When happy, mine shows no white at all. As pretty as the white may be, I believe it to be a stress indicator. You probably already knew this though....
That's cool I've never herd that it's my first mertens and there's not too much info on them so any info is greatly appreciated. do they like a lot of flow?
I have three. They all like to be in the rocks. A lot of light. Some flow but not a lot like Gigantea. Mine seems to like to eat a lot too. (Will grow a lot too!!)

I agree, mine doesn't like flow like the gigs. Hard to keep the 2 species together the flow is so different. Originally I thought they liked high flow, but what I see, mine likes low flow, like haddoni. High light, lower flow seems to puff it up the best.
Caribbean blue jeepguy! And thanks he's looking good I don't think he needs cipro but I have him in there anyway. should I just put him in the display to minimize stress and bleaching what do you guys think? in my opinion if you can get around using cipro it's worth it.
and he is super cool color every tentacle has an orange tip it's faint in white light but you can see it and in blue it glows orange!
