Picking lights gives me a headache.

I thought I was decided on getting radion 15s for my red sea reefer250 but now I'm second guessing just trying to get the right lights. I know this is an overly talked about topic but I'm looking for something that will mount to the tank. And I want to control it from my apex.

Especially if you have a reefer 250 let me know what your using and if you would recommend it and why.

Thanks!

Why are you second guessing? If a pair of xr15s are in your budget then get them... They will grow anything in that tank.

Let me emphasize on anything for what ktownhero is saying.

The XR15's wouldn't be recommended for a full blown SPS dominant tank, as I'd move into the XR30's at that point for coverage.

However, mixed reef and even mostly SPS frag-mini colonies, the XR15 would be more than plenty.

I stopped asking for people's opinions or recommendations for almost anything a long time ago. It will indeed 'give you a headache'. Too many opinions, and no easy way to separate the 'wheat from the chaff'. Better to just ask for people's experiences with particular gear.

Ha! :lmao:

I swear Simon, you have been on a role lately, and correct every time!

Thanks. The 15s are stretching the budget as is. I would Ike the 30s but one day in the future. I do like that I've heard more positive stories from the radion. The kessils all I hear is I have growth and the shimmer.. TBO it looks cool but I'd rather worry about the health and growth of the tank rather than looks of the light shimmer.

I plan on a mixed reef right now. All small stuff as I figure it all out. I've had a tank for almost 2 years now but never really dove into corals. Hoping to change that this year
