Pickles? Limes?

Jeff -

The 2.5 gallon Aquadoser is quite small and may fit on a shelf up high in your stand.

All you need to worry about is filling up your dosing tank and let it drip slowly - after a few days of trial and error and you'll see what drip rate matches your topoff needs. I will warn you that any drip system can be finnicky and stop dripping - that's the problem I kept having and finally went with the Rx to get rid of the hassle.

Save up for the reactor, life is so much easier than dosing. Kalk alone may not keep up with the alk demands of your stonies and you will be out of balance with alk and calcium, once you get out of balance it is a nightmare to get back. You will find yourself beating your head against the wall trying to keep the alk up once the sps starts growing fast. It took me a year of the dosing nightmare to get a clue and pony up for the reactor. Stability is the key to sps and varying parameters cause poor growth. You can dose once you learn how much alk and calcium and mag are being used in a set period of time but I wouldn't rely on just kalk to get you there. Plan on spending a good deal of time testing water. :D

I do have a sump almost 30 gallons.
I bought the 5 gallon version.
I'll start with a half teaspoon per gallon and see how things go from there.
then from there i'll test my levels and adjust accordingly.

anyone have a link to this vinegar saga?

if money was not a problem, could you just use a calcium reactor to achieve the same thing as the kalk dripping?

I mix mine at 3 tbsp to 5 gallons and dose it all at night that way you don't get the ph swing as with the lights on.

It's not the money that's the problem with the calcium reactor, it's the space.

Mike, what do you do with all that seperation at the bottom of the doser?

I just left mine in intill it got to deep then I cleaned it out.
I have 2- 2.5 gallons that I need to get rid of.

I know, we miss your knowledge sometimes.

I need to get off of here! But what is there to do when I do get off here today? Homework and start making dinner. ugh oh well.
