I was wondering if $55 for 12 - 16oz. or 1 lb (which is ~$4.60 a lb) of Mrs. Wages pickling lime good?

Thanks!
Gary

That's the website I was looking at. I got my ALK up and it fell back down, so I need to stablize it soon before something bad happens. :)

Thanks!

Any luck with finding this stuff locally? Everytime I ask at my local publix, they give me the deer in the headlights look.....

I've never used the stuff but I did read a thread on RC that stated how Mrs.Wages was very high on phosphates. you might want to do a search for it.

Hell last year...cannning season I bought 15 bags for 15 bucks plus tax @ publux.......Chris little took10 bags and I kept 5....wait for canning season think its around Nov/Dec

I think the price at a LFS isn't too bad unless you have a monster sized tank that runs through this stuff daily. I'm only around 40 gals... go a 1lb supply of Kalkwasser will last me for quite a while. I only use it as top off... so far everything looks great, lots of coraline algae forming.

Gary, talk to that one guy at Fishes of Eden... he has told me A LOT of stuff and anything he says I follow.

Kalkwasser precipitates out PO4, so it shouldn't be a problem. Randy did respond to the thread in question and here is the link:

Randy's response is on page 2.
