pickling lime

Rick - Sounds like you had a fun time... thanks for trying.

Alan -

I found some Mrs. Wages at the Kroger by Charlotte and White Bridge Road (not far out of the way if you live in Bellevue). It was with the other pickling and canning supplies (toward the front of the store... in the baking isle I think).

On another note, Brenntag wouldn't happen to sell magflake or dowflake would they? If so, I'd be up for a 50lb bag of each and I think it would be a little easier to get to $200 (I'm sure we have enough people that would be in on it for free shipping).

Wooglin, its in the same isle as the vinegar. Look for cases of empty jars for canning and its right in the shelf above. I just picked some up two days ago

On the idea that Kroger sells Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime...I am a drug/gm manager for one of the Kroger's in Memphis and this is one of my items to stock. I know that it is pretty much seasonal for gardening but if one of you guys are needing it , go into the nearest Kroger and ask to see thier Drug/ GM manager ..he or she should be glad to order it for you . I have never tried to order it out of it's regular season but I would think you could get it as long as the warehouse has it. Same thing on the drive way heat product...and we sell large bags of Epsom Salt for 1.99 everyday ..so you should be able to find a lot of what you are looking for by asking the department head to order it for you . It would help a whole lot if you had an empty package from a previous order that could just be scanned to order but the items can be looked up on the store's main frame as well . If you were located closer I would be glad to help you out all I could . You have my curiosity up and I will be looking on the mainframe saturday to see if I can find it . Oh and you are right about it going for cheap at the end of gardening season..we will reduce it by 75% of it's original retail to sell it out rather than hold it over so if you do find it by all means remember to check back this fall when you can score a really big savings.

you can also try publix. They just opened one in goodlettsville. They also have a fresh sushi chef there and bags of nori for $1.89
