When I replaced the bottom glass on a 240 that was given to me,I used a drill with the wire wheel brush to remove silicone residue.The glass needs to flush with the edges to give more area for the silicone to make a seal. Tank held water for 1 year then I drained it waiting to have a place to put it.What is the thickness of the glass.

glass is 1/2". I got a second pane cut that fit perfectly. please see the above thread as it moved.
