Im going to be setting up a pico tank. Its only hold about 2 gal. Im trying to think of what I can put in it. Seahorses came to mind. I really dont know much about them. Do the see small seahorse that are suitable for this size tank? The tank is a glass block that has the top cut off. The dimensions of the tank 11x11x4. Im thinking of making a hood so I can put a 50/50 pico retro light in it. Here are some pics of the lighting im thinking of and the tank.

Unfortunately, that would not be suitable for any of the seahorse species. Perhaps dwarf seahorses, but personally I'd never try it in such a "tank".

I knew it. Oh well. I think im just going to have too stick to my plan. Just doing a pico reef tank.. Small corals. What do you think I could put in there?

Whenever I find a piece of glass like that I immediately think "PICO". I set one up and had it going for about six months before I finally got frustrated with not being able to see well into it because of distortion of the glass, so I built a 1 gallon with plate glass and now am much happier. I noticed from the photo that your piece has a good amount of distortion. Hopefully you won't experience the same thing I did.

I was thinking the same thing about the distortion. The sides of the glass are the only part that is distorted. The front and the back a real clear. I will be putting a MJ mini powerhead in there.

I would not put any species of seahorse in there, even H zosterae (dwarf). It's just not suitable for them.

I think you could do a DSH tank with that but it would be challenging. It depends on your level of dedication.

Personally I think a mini reef would be more enjoyable.
