In Memoriam
I've been dying to get up a picture of my tank for some time now so you guys can see how its progressed in the last 4 months. Its been up since mid august and has come quite a ways.... I bought my girlfriend a canon powershot SD630 for christmas so when she gets back early next week I'll get some pics. Its 6 megapixel so i'm hoping they come out a little nicer than my old camera, the thing is really nice for a tiny digital camera but hey i know nothing about them.

Current Tank Stock list:

Fish:

Achilles tang (6 inches)
Yellow tang (4 inch)
Blue Hippo Tang (4+ inches)
Sailfin Tang (2 1/2 inches)
Yashia White Ray Shrimp Goby (pretty hard to come by)
2 hawaiian bicolor anthias
1 male squarespot anthias
and my personal favorite a 4 inch Moorish Idol that is eating like a pig (got him in at the store and got him eating within a day couldn't believe it so had to bring him home) he's eating frozen mysis, brine, pretty much anything)

4 inch zebra ultra deresa clam
2 crocea clams

Coral:

I've basically got several colonies of SPS around the tank mostly monti caps (orange, brown with purple ring, green, and green with reddish brown polyps) I've got 6 acropora colonies with the coolest one being a solid sky blue.

elegance coral
purple gonipora
various mushrooms
1 stalk of pulsing xenia
some green center zoos i got from paul way back when
toadstool leather
one tubeworm
2 really nice pieces of favia (brain coral)
and prolly about 4 or so others I'm forgetting

I've got some really nice blastos at the store and sold the acan I had so I'm doing my best not to bring to much home so I can build up the store lol.... its hard when your addicted thou lol.

Is this in Youngstown or Florida?

Are those large Aqua-Medic skimmers? If so, how do you like them?

florida

ALL I gotta Say I frequent(once in the last 3 months) Ryan's hole in the wall and I am almost positive that these pictures are editted. The RO/DI tanks are not really that big i think he should have mentioned that the picture was taken looking up at them to give the illusion of them being larger... Also I was rather displeased with the selection I'm starting to think his dad when out to the local canal and started picking fish out of it. Its either that or his dad goes fishing and whatever interesting "sea creature" he catches, ryan sells in the store. as far as the coral is concered ITS FAKE!!!!! ya you heard (or Read me for those of you people that care) Its all fake I when to touch one of his LPS corals (Frogspawn) and instead of it retracting it just stayed there and it wasnt soft at all it was actually hard as a rock.... OK now that I'm done bashing..

I must admit he actually has a good store its kinda nice for being in a garage. He gets some sweet stuff which I would love to see him get a Leafy Seadragon but he doesn't seem interested in that.. OH and he puts so much time into that dam store that he doesnt even call his best friend from up north back...

Those are Aqua Medic skimmers, they work fairly well for being 6 feet tall... and yea I'm in florida.

SOME SPECS FOR YOU GUYS:

Those holding tanks are 800 gallons each, one RO water and the other premade saltwater, I use this to top off and sell quite a bit of saltwater ($1.00 a gallon)

The systems all run on dolphin pumps.
The coral/clam system has a 2 HP Pacific Coast Imports Chiller, a massive calcium reactor, PH controller, huge skimmer, and is about 3000 gallons large including sump.

The center fish system has 12 220 watt UV sterilizers, ozone, skimmer, and 2 HP chiller.

Wall system has ozone, skimmer, and 2 HP chiller.

All systems are plumbed for easy top off.

At any given time I have about 150 to 300 fish depending on the day of the week, and a minimum of 200 corals. I also have about 700 pounds of liverock in the store right now.

The old owner calculated 15,000 total gallons of volume for the store but I'm a little skeptical about it being that big...

Thanks for the pics Marco, now i'll get some more up

are those skimmers working well? i never see much skimmate in them, sometimes they look like they aren't even running right?!

Your asking Ryan if they are working properly....? that boy wouldn't have a clue if it walked up and bit him! :)

Ryan, to calculate actual total volume sum all L x H x W (inside dimensions) for all rectangular vessels and factor by 0.004329004 to get gallons. Add to that all cylindrical vessels by generating the sum of 3.1416 x R x H (inside dimensions) and factor by 0.004329004 to get gallons. Add the 2 and valla you have total gallons.

Or you can use the preferred method of Youngstown public schools and guess... :)

the skimmers always look empty because I clean the cups every single day, every other day worst case... its the first thing i do in the morning. They do a really good job from what i can see but i still like my ASM skimmer the best. You should see the skimmer on the liverock system work when i'm curing rock, i have to throw a wet rag over the lid to keep it secure from the amount of bubbles popping at the surface

Is that an ASM, Aqua-Medic, or something else?
