So the aquarium was upstairs ... and the sump was downstairs in the basement ?!?

Yes, the aquarium is upstairs and the sump is in the basement. It was a very nice setup.

dascharisma has the same set up I stopped by his place once to check out his tank. Very nice setup. 90 gallon upstairs with two 100g stock tubs downstairs. Wish I had the room or a house to do this.
