Pics of my 75 @ 6 mos.

Here are some updated pics of my 75. My coral frags haven't grown "up" much, but they are well encrusted and very thick at the base. I have been told this is due to high flow, so I took out two powerheads. Hopefully they will start growing UP!!

Anyhow, enjoy.

This blasto is growing on me I think it's one of my favorite corals now. (ironically I think it was the first)

I have been told this is due to high flow, so I took out two powerheads.

Not likely, those SPS are from turbulent flow zones and are quite happy in higher flow environments than you have there. I advise you to put those powerheads back in before the tank balance is altered.
That said, your LPS look great in there, and they do indeed do a lot better with lower flow. Your attempting to keep high flow and low flow animals in the same tank, and there is a delicate balance to it IMO. If you are seeing problems with the LPS growing. Try placing the LPS under the Powerheads where the flow is at its minimum.
Your SPS tend encrust a lot before vertical growth will take place. In my tank I had serious encrusting but little vertical growth I believe my issue was due to lower light (2X150 DEs) and insufficient water flow at the time. If you want to test this, try mounting your next SPS frag horizontally rather than vertical. This will create a bigger area for the coral to maximize photosynthesis and you should see small bumps reaching vertical within short time provided they have enough flow and light and all other proper SPS criteria are met Ca/Alk/Mg.

Best of luck tank looks great.
