Finally got my mated pair of Multi Bars. These are not at all rare but they do have a bad reputation of not being easy to care for. They came in fat and eating which was a big plus for these types of angels. These are also Centropyge angels as well and they are my new mated pair. ENjoy and sorry for the bad pics. They were pretty hard to take pics of because they are so shy.

heres a pic of the male in the foreground and the female hiding. Shes pretty shy.

John tangs and its nice to hear that the Tang is doing great.

heres a few more pics of the two couple together since the female keeps herself in a cave and only comes out when the male comes around to check up on her.

Definitely, one of those fish that shouldn't be collected for the trade, but it looks like Warren really lucked out if they're fat and eating;)

yea if anyone is interested in these guys, a good research on them is important. Thay are pretty difficult to keep in the home aquaria. But these guys have a really bad reputation.
"LargeAngels" is the only other RC member with a pair.
and he agrees that these guys have bad reps also, but beautiful fish.
The other important thing is to make sure that you are getting them net caught and the location that they come from were they use the correct ethical practice of collection. A lot of times they come from the Phillipines, and Sri Lanka.
This pair comes from Marshall Is.

That's probably the key, Warren;) The decompression method at MI might be more fine tuned than the other locations. That's probably the single biggest reason why they almost never do well in captivity. That, plus the stressful birght lighting of our reef tanks, usually spell doom.

Glad yours are eating, bro:)

Not just the decompression, but usually fish that come out of Sri Lanka and the P.I. are not that great. Those fish usually are hit up with cyanide.
As far as the lighting goes in reef tanks, its always good to create cave structures out of the live rocks in the tank for safe haven for fish that are not used to such light until they can acclimate and adjust to the lighting.

thanks Karl
