Does anyone have pictures of their closed loop system for help in reference for setting a new one up? I can only drill holes once and get it right, and I want to get it right :) PLEASE POST THEM HERE...

Check out the oceans motion forum. You will find a section of the forum dedicated to people that used their product!

That didn't take me to the forum for some reason, but I did manage to find it now....Thanks for the help!!

I thought you'd prefer the link to the main page. Sorry :o

BTW, here's my closed loop...no oceansmotions....One intake as seen in the upper left corner. All returns through the top manifold. So only one hole drilled. This setup works well with my rock pillar formations in the tank.

Hey, SDGuy, or anyone else I guess, what do you use as a screen over your suction hole going out of your take so that fish, snails, etc. don't get sucked into your pump?

The CL drain on my tank is 1" PVC. I used a 1.5" bulkhead and recuded it right after it left the tank to reduce the amount of suction over the screen. Works GREAT!

Mine is a 1.5" strainer for 1.5" bulkhead and pipe. Even with a 5800gph pump, I've *never* had a healthy fish get stuck to it. But it sure is great at catching those dead bodies before they start decomposing behind the rocks :D

My tangs actually pick algae off the screen :eek2:

THANKS! I found something similar to that at Fleet Farm, but it is blue in color and matched the back of the tank pretty good.

SDguy, where did you get the piping that directs your flow...never see them before but they look awesome for diverting the flow to where it is needed?

Did you find this item Dedex?? It's called Loc-Line and can be found at most on line vendors. One of our sponsors, Premium Aquatics, for instance, carries them. Most I have seen in reef tanks comes in black. Some of the industrial ones come in blue, but with orange tips. If your background is blue, you may be needing to color match. One more reason I like black backgrounds.
