PICS- Pease ID this anemone and offer advice

um now i am more confused the tentacles say bubble tip and the mouth looks too tight and too small to be mag, but it is shaped like a mag

Those confuse me too. Canyou get a better shot of the foot? Maybe lift the edge with a chopstick or something so we can see it?

I really, really, really, really don't like to be wrong. Now it's starting to look like BTA. If it were H. Mag it most likely would have moved by now. Those tentacles are all BTA. GSMguy, it looks like your streak is safe for now.
Man that was hard to say. I think I'll go be sick now.

That's a Heteractis magnifica.....for sure....looks like mine the shape and I get a little bulby tentacle....and no white lines radiatin from mouth on oral disk

That is a BTA, I think.
If you want to be sure, nothing beat seeing it in person. Send it to me and I will ID it 100% for you.
Looks like it is doing well and a beautiful anemone at that.

it did move to the next rock over, and closer to the sand, but not on the sand, just the bottom edge of the rock

Ya, but it moved in the wrong direction. You have a BTA. A very nice BTA BTW.

I have a H. magnifica that is planted part way under a rock, so just because it is on the underside of a rock doesn't preclude it still being H. magnifica.

I think it is a cony anemone! End of story:D

Just Kidding.

I have no idea, and I'm new to anemones, but I saw an anemone like that at a LFS. Although I do have another idea to ID it: put it in anemone prison (no light, no flow) and leave there untill it can't stand it , then it will fess up and tell you what it is. Just Kidding again!

my vote is bta, if it were a mags do sometimes have slightly swollen tips, but never the nipple effect as seen in btas and this anemone. the red base is not a problem many btas have red bases.

How about posting a few more pics Captain? In the first pics I was leaning toward H. magnifica, in the last ones it definitely made me thing E. quadricolor. So snap a few more for to continue the debate, if you don't mind.

Here are a couple more:
