Pictures - 800 gallon reef - 7+ years in operation

Hey DitchPlains, sorry if you took my post the wrong way. I wasnt addressing you in particular, just the few nosey people that ask questions we shouldnt be asking.

well I'd say there's no harm in asking the question once -- its just that people have asked that like a million times in this thread, and each time hrck has very nicely not blown his top or anything but said, sorry its private, please don't bug me about it. I just wish the same question wasn't asked over and over, but that's just the way it is with message boards.

FWIW, don't know if anyone else caought this, butin the picture from the local newspaper (page 3 of this thread) the caption uses the dialect 'six tonnes' and 'myriad colours' which indicates to me that it's located outsides the states... just a guess.

Nevertheless a useless observation, and with all that aside, this is an absolutly stunning display, and I have read this thread 3 times and am picking my way through a 4th.

as far as costs go... I will make the analogy to fine jewelry or cars.. if you have to ask, you can't afford it. ha ha ha.

Wow

Wow

You tank is just.... well... WOW! The planning and design must have been a nightmare. Truly wonderful. The pics are just inspiring. If you ever decide to allow Reef Central visitors, I would absolutely, truly enjoy the visit. Please keep the pics and info coming. Thank you very much for your posts.

Either that or the local paper has a few "off the street" editors.
Im sure HRK works hard at his job and lives in a house, so unless he posts in "JobCentral" or "HouseCentral" we should only be wanting info on the tank and its inhabitants.

Hrk you seem to have pixs from the start up, Do you have any from when the rock first went in or maybe some of the first corals that went in that you still have?

thanks for more postings HRCK always interesting indeed.

Sorry if my questions were offensive, never meant to be..pardon my ignorance on the subject :sad2:
take care.

I was wondering how the Tank of the month is selected?

Who chooses and how is the choice made?

I really think that this tank should be a considered!

Anyone agree?

Any time you see a tank that is TOTM worthy, you can send a PM to "Skipper", editor of Reefkeeping online. Tanks are selected due to nominations sent in that way.

HCRK,

Picking up my copy of Coral Reef Adventure tonight!

Not that I need more motivation after reading this thread.

Thanks for all the pics. and details. Simply Amazing.

Hcrk,

One question for you! I have looked at your photos and have noticed that the only Angel you have in your tank is a Swallowtail(I believe that is what it is), is this correct? And if so, is there a reason you eliminated Angels from your livestock equation?

Thanks

(Sorry, I guess only us FOWLR guys would notice that!

:D )

HOLY tank

HOLY tank

HCRK!
I started reading this thread this morning at 6:00am..
and between coffe and my little doughter crying I just finished. to read it..
I must say... that this is really a window on the reef..
we are planning to move this year.. and planning for a big tank too
I hope that is going to be beatifull as your tank is..

cheers

As I'm relatively new to the hobby I usually like to just read the posts and learn. Amazing tanks, but a few of you guys should calm down about people being curious about the money side of things. Yes, this forum is about marine tanks, therefore pictures of well stocked bars, home cinemas ("with 11 speakers..."), an expensively furnished hallway and gardens will provoke questions about wealth as it is being flaunted to a certain degree! I do agree that we should respect hcrk's privacy and I thank him for sharing his tank. I feel better about getting that off my chest!! I'm going to have to start posting more often...:p

Good investigation on the spelling of "colour" in the newspaper, but hcrk it spells "color"!!

Steve M UK,

[welcome]

Man, half this thread is about privacy chatter. :sad2:

Hey steve -- I don't think anyone really jumped on anyone right off the bat for the privacy issues, it was just after hrck asked us not to bother him about it, that people started getting defensive about it.

And yeah Marc, I agree, forget privacy chatter

Personally I want to see some closeups of the tank, more pics of the tank, and oh did I mention more pics of the tank? :D

I guess were not going to see any new pics of the tank anymore.
If I was hcrk I would be showing off my tank!:D
