I am unsure if it is a male or female. He was pretty shy for about a month, but after that he roams around his tank pretty often.
I feed him pretty much anything we have around... frozen oysters, clams, shrimp, fresh salmon, fresh octopus and squid. They're mostly enriched with a little Selcon.

He's about 5" or so in a 29 gallon glass tank. I reinforced the bottom of the tank with a plexiglass sheet and several inches of sand. The 29g is connected to my main 150g system, and it acts as somewhat of a refugium. I grow some chaeto, and various other species of macro algae as well as hair algae grow in spots.

wow has he hit the glass yet, i have the same size mantis but im scared to put him in a 29 gallon tank,lmk how he's been doing and some more info on setup!!thanks

He hit the glass a few times when I got him about 4 months ago.
But he stopped after 2 or 3 days.
