I run the Giesemann T5 420nm actinics and 10K Ushois. Scott was trying to convince me to go with 14K bulbs, but I get over 400 PAR with the Ushois and good color. I might get a little better color with the 14K, but having a 30" tank I can just adjust the height of the coral to better fit the natural depth. The coralline has to be constantly scraped from the back of the tank and the overflow. But I seem to scratch the tank every now and then, due to the lower density of the starphire glass on the front pane, still there are less than half and dozen scratches and they are not noticeable. As of now the 10K halides run 8 hours and the T5's run 12 with a 2 hour sunrise and sunset. My coralline algae is quite robust and will grow very rapidly if not controlled. I think this may be due to the calcium reactor.
