Pictures of my tank after the crash

Can't Stop Time
I thought it would be nice to have some photos of my tank before I start adding frags. I hope to update this thread every so often to keep track of the growth of the corals.

There are a couple of my firefish and one of my calcium reactor, hope you guys like them. Its been a lot of work coming back from the crash and I am finally feeling more confident in the tanks ability to have coral. The big H&S skimmer rated for 300 gallons, the filter sock, rowacarbon and rowaphos help to the water really clear.

Yea, I can't wait to start adding coral. I am going to do a big water change this weekend and then start glueing them in, the goal is to get about 20 nice SPS frags in there and then watch them grow.

I don't know what happened to the firefish's fin, I just saw it a day or two ago. There aren't any aggressive fish in the tank, so I'm thinking the most likely culprit is the other firefish. They have become a mated pair and sleep in the same little den, its pretty weird, lol.

I run the Giesemann T5 420nm actinics and 10K Ushois. Scott was trying to convince me to go with 14K bulbs, but I get over 400 PAR with the Ushois and good color. I might get a little better color with the 14K, but having a 30" tank I can just adjust the height of the coral to better fit the natural depth. The coralline has to be constantly scraped from the back of the tank and the overflow. But I seem to scratch the tank every now and then, due to the lower density of the starphire glass on the front pane, still there are less than half and dozen scratches and they are not noticeable. As of now the 10K halides run 8 hours and the T5's run 12 with a 2 hour sunrise and sunset. My coralline algae is quite robust and will grow very rapidly if not controlled. I think this may be due to the calcium reactor.

any thanks to the hard working guys behind the scenes who poked and prodded to get the tank back to a workable state?

just messing with ya

looks good

Sorry John, lol. A big thanks to you for helping get the wiring working and the stand that hides the calcium reactor and bottle. Without your knowledge that stand would have been so terrible.

I have added some new coral including a great piece of staghorn that Rob and I split. Its really blue with purple bumps and lime green polyps. I am also going to be adding some more stuff tomorrow, so I will try to get some pictures up on Sunday (if I can convince Scott to bring his camera over to my place).

Sorry, but no photos tonight, its been a busy day. Hopefully when things get a little more settled some photos will be posted.
