Hi all,

Totm in 2006 and now even better imo than ever before.
Kudos to Pieter and Richard to maintain the animals hardy and healthy. We are very proud to have this Beast:D in our small country.

A couple of days ago I visit Pieter (again) and made the following pictures. I like to share a part of the collection with you.

Cheers,

Ron.

I want a parrotfish in my reef :D

Aside from "Wow".....let's talk more about that parrotfish.

First off...don't those get really LARGE? That fish looks like the ones that I see diving/snorkeling and they reach 2 feet plus.

Secondly...Don't parrotfish eat ONLY stoney coral? I always thought they were the ultimate no-no for a SPS tank.

I would be very interested to hear more about his keeping of that particular fish.

Love that bar...

The parrotfish is a Scarus quoyi. The max size is about 20 cm (kinda small actually) and its the only parrotfish that eats algea in nature and harmless in a reeftank. It can be a great addition to a reeftank, minimum size 500/600 liters.

Best,

Ron.

That is awsome news on that parrot fish. Now I just need to find one. I too would like to know what he feeds it.
I wonder how much $ they are?

The scarus feeds on actually anything that enters the tank. Most of the time its a combination of frozen mysis and cyclops. Eats pelletfood from spectrum.

Overhere the retailprice is around 100/150 euro
