Pink leomande acro growth, Whats yours?

Maximus, mine sounds like yours...it's been in the tank since feb...I keep mine about 6" under the lights...it's pretty much beige now with a blue encrusting rim....unfortunitly this was one of the frags that took a hit when my salt levels got out of wack and has had some STN at the base :(...I'm thinking of trying to cut what is left off the rock and move it down a little and in an area with a lot more flow..

I am running all t-5's right now, (Tek 6 bulb fixture) i havnt gotten my MH up yet.
So far i am liking t-5's i may end up with 4 overdriven t-5's for punch along with the tek light, or just hook up the 20k 400's.

I have no pics but I am experiencing both verticle growth, as well as a lot of encrusting. I also have 4 new branches. Mine has been in my tank for 3 months. After all I had heard I have been shocked at how quick this piece has grown. Mine is sitting about 10" below the surface and 18" below 250 w 20K xm bulbs without any actinic supplementation. The body is a glowing green and the polyps are a beautiful pink. It has really colored up beautifully since I added it, and it was pretty when it arrived so I must be doing something right.

Mine is growing about the same rate as others posted. The encrusted base is is huge compared to the vertical growth. That said, vertical growth is there, just alot slower than encrusting.

Colors are pretty much the same as when I got the frag from hugo, and it is under t5's. I can't remember how long it has been in my tank, but I have no new branches or nubs. I run a calcium reactor, and dose a two-part occasionally.

Mine is also growing at the same rate as all have posted. Mines base is also huge vs the vertical growth.

Color is alittle lighter than it was when received, but still has the light pink polyps.
I just changed the bulb from a 10K XM to a 20K XM.

I also run a duel chambered Ca reactor, and dose Zeo's Amino acids, and Potassium. 2 times a week, no other Zeo products used.

Here is a recent picture of mylittle pink lemonade frag. It is somewhat more green than this picture shows as it seems to be going back to the green coloring that it was when I first acquired the coral.

:eek2: :eek2: Wow nice encrusting:D :D

Thanks Hugo...I wish a few nubs would shoot up :). I was noticing the slight rounding of a spot on the base but I sometimes think my eyes are playing tricks on me. It continues to build a great base. Some faint purple edges are showing up as well. The color is really sweet.

BTW, Hugo, how goes the tank and all after the heat issues early this summer??? I suspect you are well on the mend and things are going good...At least I hope so.

I'm glad I saw this thread, as I almost started a new one. Just took pics of mine yesterday. I've only had it for a few months.

In this pic, the green nub is what I started out with. It hasn't reallly done much (except for that point at the top) other than encrust for the first few months. It has now just begun to sprout branchlets in the last couple of weeks.

The new growth is either yellow or blue. John (tubs) did mention that the PL has the tendency to do that.

Here's another section where some of the blue's also on the new branchlets, as well as the edge.

(all pics are under Ushio 14K with no supplementation)

pretty slow grower for me. looks like new branches are sprouting up from the newly encrusted base :D

thanks sang. its about 14" below the water surface. and my 250w 20k iridius is 9" above the water. but i only run MH's 4hrs/day.

tfp, Wow...very nice growth in just a few months. I have heard that this coral is a good grower once it gets going. From the looks of yours it had a fairly large encrusted base in August and those branches are shooting up now. Sweet coloration. It looks like the 20k is not slowing growth on your piece at all and your color is gorgeous.
I moved my piece to about 24" under the lights. It was sitting about 9" under the lights, prior to that about 15" under the lights since I acquired it in March as a tiny little frag...I re-aquascaped last week and had put this frag up higher than before. I have definate purple edges on the new growth and those new polyps are most definately pink, the areas getting higher light are more neon green with orangish/brownish polyps. We shall see if I found that sweet spot or not :).

Well, I'll be damned! My pink lemonade has almost fully regained its green color! It was getting a tad brownish/orangeish so I decided to move it lower. After a few weeks, the colony has decided to revert back to green! Here is a pic of a frag of it:
