pink margin fairy aggression

How do I change this?
How are the temperaments of these guys? I'm about to pull out a black fin that is terrorizing my pylei pair, and don't want to add another bully. I also have mostly peaceful fish...dispar/sunburst/randall's anthias, leopard wrasse, cleaner wrasse, clowns, blennies. I would also like to add a mystery in the future. Tank is a 300. Tia.

My PM was one of the most personable fish I've ever had. He was mellow and peaceful with the other fish. He would swim through my hand and I could pet him.

I had a Mystery some years ago. He was a bit of a bully and became quite the fin nipper. He didn't know how to react to the sunburst anthias in the tank though. I think this was my favorite behavior of his. I've never seen a fish look so confused.

I have a large male PM in with a Pylei trio. The male Pylei is smaller yet FAR more aggressive. It's usually when he's dancing for his ladies that he gets a bit zippy though. :inlove:

The pink margin will definitely be less aggressive than the blackfin, however the pylei's aggression will increase and will likely be very focused on your pink margin when added.

I would strongly advise against adding a mystery wrasse. They can be quite aggressive, particularly toward other wrasses.

My pink margin is very laid back and was subordinate to my Lineatus until my wantanabe angel took a disliking to the Lineatus and beat him up badly. The PM seized the opportunity and became the dominate one and finished off the poor abused Lineatus. I really think they would have been fine (they had been together for 18 months when this happened) had the angel not started everything.

Agreed on both. Female pylei are no picnic either.

Pylei will be destructive later. The PM may be fine if it's that big, in a big tank. Use an acclimation box. But I wouldn't suggest the mystery.

I added my wrasses in a terrible order, yet everything is fine. I use the acc box for a few days to a week.
My aggressive wrasses are a 5" supermale Rosefascia who was well established before I added a black fin. Then a lineatus male, then a cf lancelatous, earlei, then labouti, then a Japanese lunatus. And a few others. All is fine in my 325

I've actually heard the females are worse than the males. Luckily these two have been good so far. Even with wimpy wrasses. I think the space and heavy feeding definitely help.
