Pink Skunk Clown Sexing

I want to purchase some pink clowns for our big tank 220gal but i have a question that i cannot find an answer for. Are the pink Skunks like the Amphiron Percula's and switch sexes by dominance and size?

or are they like some other fish and are born male or female? while i would buy an established pair, i would rather by juvi's and watch them grow

They are going to be like other clowns --- start off as unsexed juvi males, then a sexed male, and then a sexed female -- in order of dominance.

When I bought my pair, they were two small juvis, after about 4 months together (( with no fighting )) it was clear who the female was -- got larger.

Also, you are suppose to be able to tell the males from the females from the faint red trim to the fins. I THINK it is the males that get it but I will have to look closer at my pair.

If you look closely you can see the faint outline on the male in this shoot -- the closer one.

thanks for the reply thats great to hear.. it's great to watch something grow in your tank>. especially after a trip to the Aquarium and see their adult sizes!

That is why I always try to buy small clowns and pair them myself, I like to watch them grow, and if lucky spawn.
