pink stylo burnt by fallen coral - recoverable?

polywise

OLD SCHOOL-ish
I have a hot pink stylophoras frag that I had bought early this spring.

Yesterday I came to look at my tank, and a coral had tipped over and was sitting on one of the branches (nub) of the stylo coral. As of this morning, the nub (about half of the actual coral) was white. Has anyone had this happen, and does the coral eventualy regenerate over the burnt area, or will it have to be clipped off?

I will get a picture tonight.

Anytime I have any sps fall over or fall into other corals and there is tissue damage I will clip the dead area off. It will eventually get new regrowth. Most of the time you will get algae growth on the fresh skeleton if its left alone.

Here are the pics. I am thinking I will have to cut it back :angryfire:

I would leave it be... thats not mich damage at all... if conditions are right, it should grow back jus fine with some patience...

OK, I take a wait and see approach.
I am just bummed, as this coral grows slowly.
It was just a single nub this spring...
