Pink Tip (haitian) Anemone

I just brought home a pink tip anemone and after I brought it home i did some research and realized it needs strong lighting. what type of lighting do I exactly need. I have plenty of water flow and no other corals or anemones. The species was in a tank with only flourescent lighting and I have 4 t5 on a coralife ballast. Im thinking this may not be enough.

whats the wattage on each tube and the kelvin? How large is the aquarium?

T5HO or normal output? Check the wattage on the tubes to find out.

4 T5's over anything less than 30ish gallons should be fine, IMO. however in a FOWLER I'd be more inclined to think you have NO bulbs...

how big is the tank in question?

I have 2 T5 HO on a 72 and light is fine

I have the same type of anemone. What color is the anemone? Mine is a mix of brown, pink and green. To know if you are getting enough light it should have white tenticles with pink tips and the base should be orange. That should be enough lighting. Mine are under regular freshwater lights for now.

i have one under 2 65w. vho's in a 55g. and it's doing great

awsome. I have been so damn busy I havent had time to check the wattage of the bulbs. I will take a look tonight

That description of the tentacles sounds like a bleached anemone to me. As far as the condy's base being red, that is pigmentation, not zooxanthellae. You might need to upgrade your lighting to saltwater, reef intensity.

yeah probably. tentacles are white, tips are pink and it does have plenty of current. it moved from its origional location and has stayed put since so i will monitor its behavior closely until i purchase some MH
