Pinky the bear

Does anyone have any experience with this Tyree coral. I asked a coral framer to pick one up (large piece)from Steve at the Atlanta swap. He lost it by the next day. So Steve had no problems replacing it(small piece). Because I didnt want him to eat shipping I bought five more frags. By the next morning I lost it. I also received 10 more frags from two other suppliers all are doing good. I received the shipment on Tuesday.

I received a drag as well, arrived in perfect condition. After a few days it was not so happy (same as mentioned earlier all other frags rcvd are growing perfect) moved to lower light and it seems to be improving (knock on wood)

My qt is a 14g nano with a par 38 bulb. But that doesnt even matter because it never even seen light. My qt practice for quality sps is drip them, inspect them, then put them in qt with lights out. I do not dip until several days to a week and only as needed. The next one will come from the dallas forums if I can get someone there to fedex.

Why is it so common for vendors to send fresh cuts? This is very common and I feel it doesnt give the coral the best chance to survive. Maybe someone with more experience could tell me im wrong. Ive seen it from my online orders to the several times ive been to reefstock.

I hate getting shipped fresh cuts! Mine is fully encrusted so shipped very healthy.
More than likely it is just an extremely fussy acro and HATES even the slightest changes...fresh cutting/shipping amplifies the problem.
This post made me go look @ mine (total darkness) and feeders were happily swaying :)

That's a great looking coral.

One question: Why are there no pics in this thread!?!? :p

I found a pic on Reef Farmers, but I was to see some more. This looks like a coral that I'll definitely want.

Really makes me jealous, but Im happy for you. BTW I called mine Pinky the Cub!! So sad

Sorry! I read your first post, where you mention that. But, for some reason, I was thinking that the other 10 frags you received were Pinky the Bear frags, as well. Now that I think about it, that wouldn't make much sense.

I hope you get another piece, as that is a beauty!
