This little guys been buzzing around sucking up pods like a vacume "which is good because they were getting out of controle. Any info on this little guy will help.

He dosen't show much intrest in frozen food. This tank has been up for over three years with nothing in it to eat the pods. Is this not there natural diet? He hasen't stopped eating all it does is buzz around & eat pods. I did put mysis & cyclopeze in but he paid it no mind.

Are these little guys pretty coomon I pick him up for 10.00? Where are they from? I did a google search but not much info comes up other thab RC posts (LOL).

Does anyone else have one of these that could give alittle info? Like I said I resarched as much as I could get off the net but there wasen't much info.

Where did you get him? I am looking for one and the only place I have found one is Live Aquaria and the are not available now.

Cool , thanks. I would love to get one, but it is like a 4-5 hour drive, so I guess I'll have to wait for live aquaria to get them in.

WOW I can't believe no one has one of these or has any info. He seems pretty adjusted, eating & fat so I guess it will be fine.

I think they are one of the hardier pipefish. They can actually be put in a reef aquarium with other non aggressive fish. As long as you have a good pod count.

Thanks, Pods are not a problem the percula clown don't bother with the pods. I was going to get another manderin but figured this guy was way more interesting & is doing quite a good job.

In a 30 gallon aquarium, I would be concerned about it decimating the pod population. I would suggest continuing to offer frozen food, to see if you can get it to switch. You may also want to add a refugium to see if that helps.

Iv'e had my Mandarine in another 18 gallon reef tank for 3 years (& he is fat) my pods are always reproducing. I have alot of live rock & macros alge growning on it, running out of pods won't be a problem. I asked about the frozen food because I don't want him to be malnurished from just pods if thats not it's natural diet thanks.
