That will depend on the type and age of the pipefish.
Pipefish that I've had preferred juvenile brine shrimp over adults because of the size of their mouths.
If you are lucky enough to have a pipefish that will eat mollie fry then you need to "gut load" the mollie fry with BBS first to give the mollie fry the fatty acid profile that marine fish need for long term survival.
i was thinking about putting them in my sump (125 gallont sump) and "fishing out the fry" to feed to the main tank. So i could feed the mollies/fry BBS in the sump.
I guess you could keep the mollie fry in the sump if you can protect them from getting caught by the filter or pump, what ever you have in there.
As for BBS, they cannot be kept in the sump as they cannot swim strong enough to keep out of any filter or powerhead.
Also, they need to be freshly hatched and fed to the pipefish to be of value, or, after they are about 24 hours old, they need to be gut loaded for 2 twelve hours periods making another 24 hours and then fed immediately to the pipes.
