Pisces' addiction

Thanks, it's a Cannon Digital Ixus 700 standard digital point and shoot.

Well, last weekend marked the 5 month anniversary of the birth of our 50g display =)

I figured that I would shoot some pics to mark the date. Pardon the yellowness I was fiddling with the white balance on the camera.

We actually spent the weekend away from the tanks on a business trip to Atlantic City. Here's us on the roof of the AC Aquarium.

Thanks for reading =)

I love your tank... and you definatly know how to use that P&S camera!

What method(s) do you use to control Ca/Alk/Mag? The SPS is gonna look sick when it grows in! :)

Well, I was using API test kits to track Ca and Alk and recently switched to Salifert. This lead me to discover my Alk and Mag have been dismally low.

I had been using b-ionic and tech-m for Cal, Alk, and Mag but have also switched to the BRS supplements using their online calculator.

I've been happy with my SPS growth so far with new growth noticable in my weekly pictures. I can't wait to see what happens when my chemistry bounces back.

Thanks!

So I broke down and bought a Todd's Torch today.

This piece has 7 heads and super long tentacles. 6" so far and it's only been in the tank a couple hours.

It's funny how it steals the show as a centerpiece in the tank even with $100's in Zoanthids and rare SPS. Sorry for the crappy night shot i'll grab a better one tomorrow.

thanks for the frag Aaron, the tank looks better in person. that torch is a beast.
that torch is BONE SAW

Thanks James & Dan~

The torch will go to the saw eventually. I have no doubt it will be 12+ heads in a few months as some of the heads are splitting on two axis already.

I love what this hobby has come to...

-people buy sea creatures to put in a box/tub
-people blast these creatures with good light, expensive food etc..
-people take great care of these creatues...

JUST TO TAKE EM TO THE SAW LOLOLOL!!!

anyway either way, whatta great piece. cant wait to see the new FTS!

Very Nice! Love the progress,My ultimate favorites are your (Zoanthid collection)wow !! Green striped mushroom, and birds nest. Oh and jesus lol I love cleaners!

Thanks Shawna~

Started yet another system (our 4th) up this weekend. The woman loves mushrooms wih a passion and I've been promising her a mushroom tank for a while. Plus, after we move over her sizeable collection from the 50g, I'll have more space for my fav's.

The tank is a 37g hex that we found on CL for free. Picked up a 24" t5ho in a trade for frags. The rock was $$$ tonga branch but since everything else was free it's not too bad. It's cycling now with just a ac70 + floss for flow and filtration.

Here's a 3 was FTS.

And an updated FTS of the 10g frag box.

That's awesome, got to love CL! I love mushrooms as well :)
As soon as I get my tank going my brother is going to send me some of his but I really want to find some (blue ones) :)
Nice frags! You have 4 tanks or 4th upgrade? I love tonga myself but yeah it's pricy! I got lucky and got mine really cheap from an lfs that went out of business. Make sure you post some pics I'm interested to see what her new mushrooom tank is going to look like (it's off to a great start)!

Yup, 4th tank. We have the 50g breeder penninsula display, ap12 that I use on and off for a hospital/qt and my leathers that I don't want in with the SPS, 10g frag tank, and the new 37g hex.

The tonga branch is super nice. I actually like the scape with the branch in the hex better than my DT. The only downside is tonga branch doesn't have easy nooks to wedge new corals into so it would be hard to do with my main SPS/LPS collection.

I already know her tank is going to be a pretty badass mushroom house. So far we have purple, green striped, red, flame, superman, green rhodactis, ricodea yumas, and ricordea floridas just waiting for the cycle to finish to move em over. I think the branch rock will look super cool when the mushrooms start spreading up onto them.
