Pistol Shrimp and Yellow Watchman Goby in 2.5G?

Could I keep a YWG and a pistol shrimp in a 2.5 g?

I am getting a pico tank for christmas and can't figure out what I want to put in it.

Since the goby and shrimp don't really "swim" all that much, I thought maybe it would be okay.

any thoughts?

I would say it should be ok for one of the smaller pairs, like a candy cane and yasha. My YWG and candy cane pistol have a much smaller area they excavate than my Randall's goby and tiger pistol. Those two literally move the sand around in half of my 75g.

Thanks! Any suggestions for pairing or maintaining a pair?

I heard that its easier if you add them in together. If you have no other fish, I don't see any issues. I had my candy cane shrimp in my tank for a month and then got a YWG and he is already in the same burrow. Its been a day since I added the goby.

I think the other thing that can help is the naturally pairs are Tiger Pistol / Yellow Watchman Goby and Candy Cane Pistol / Yasha Goby.

Sorry guys, it seems i dont have the ability to edit posts yet. I'm not sure why it keeps double posting. Tried both quick reply and post reply.

I would not add those to a 2.5 gallon tank. The bioload is just too much for such a small volume of water and it's easy for the nitrates and phosphates to creep up causing nuisance algae and cyano. Why not just add a few sexy shrimp? That's what I had in my 2.5g pico for years.
