Pistol Shrimp Question???

I bought some live rock today, and found a pistol shrimp in it.
This guy is only about 1/2 an inch long.
First question is Brazengrrl, do you want this one back?
Second question is, do I want to put this guy in my reef tank?
Please help me with this guy.

It should be fine, they wont harm anything, you probably wont ever even see it. But if you hear it popping alot, that means that it is being threatened, meaning that you should remove him, and that means that some other things is bothering it, not it bothering other things. I love pistol Shrimp, what color is it, or does it have color yet?
 
Are you sure its a pistol and not a mantis? and they are super cool.. i've noticed mine poppin to help clear out some sand to tunnel under a rock- he's actually pretty visible if there's food out there :)

I would LOVE him. IDK hwo i can get to you, but where do you live? DO you ever go to Sea in the City? if you do, i will be working there on fri. or you can drop it off and i can pick it up. He looks awesome, and i have always wanted on. Just let me know, thanks
 
This shrimp and I were at SITC today. I just didn't know he was with me. Tub of live rock was in the bed of my truck.
I won't be back that way until next weekend at the earliest.
I do not think it will be Friday though.
I live in Winter Haven, so SITC is kind of a hike for me.
I think you might be closer to me. Where do you live?
 
Do you live near to or know of anyone that will be going to SITC or Kissimmee, or near SITC this week...i may be able to talk my paretns into taking me on a little detour on the way to SITC on friday...

Hi, sorry forthe late reply. I had to relinquish my rights to the other pistol because it would have been terrible to keep it in such a small tank. I knew I had that one tha I took, but I didnt realixe there was another one, sorry about that.

What size tank do you have? They have been in my 65 gallon for a long time and the only thing they bothered was snails, but I didnt mind, because he had such personality. This one is soo see through, and those sure do look like eggs, kinda cool actually. I took the other one to the LFS on my way home from work last night and traded him for a small frag. My boyfriend was kinda bummed though. Anyways.............Im sure someone on here will take her or you could trade her at the LFS

Did you look up where i lived? Could we meet up like somwhere close to that? like biking distance (lol) I REALLy want this guy (or girl)... if you dont wnat to trade her in, i certainly would love to take her, i have plenty of rockwork annd holes for her to claim, and my snails fight back...hahaha...ive taught them to not take crap from the bothersome hermits. THat is a cool shrimp, just let me know, i need to plan things out. As of now im grounded (IDK why yet...lol) but could probably sneak out to make a "phone call" or something and meet you.
 
I found a very small pistol shrimp like 1/4" on a peice of LR that Mac sold me, acclimated him to my tank and put him in, i hope he lives, or didnt get eaten by a hermit or something, that was a cool lookin guy, he was transparent aswell, but soo small.
