Hi guys:
I was moving the rocks around in my 30gl tank and I found a pistol shrimp under a rock I have 1 butterfly, 1 banded coral shrimp, 1 Queen angel, 1 goby. I have had this tank for two years now I added a new rock around 2 months ago I think it got into the tank at that moment. But so far other than the noise nothing else has happend. I'm planning to disasemble the 30gl tank because I am setting up a new 75gl and I plan to use the live rock and livestock for my 75gl what can you guys recomend
Thanks

You are absolutely fine. I got about 5 of them with gobies. Is it the white kind? All of them are fine, and no threat. Buy a yellow watchman, yashi, or an antenna goby. They will prbably hook up like mine. Its awesome! I love them. Youa re lucky you did not find a mantis. No panic!

actually - if the pistol is native to the atlantic - i would doubt it would show any symbiotic relationship with a goby from the pacific. Depending on how big it is - it could be a threat to inverts and even a fish dumb enough to go into its burrow...that stated, pistols are reef safe.

I have one 2" long. No problems, even with stupid fish and crabs that bother it.

I have one in my tank and he has never hurt anything.

In fact when a crab falls in the hole the pistol or the goby will push him back out the hole with out hurting him. It' fun to watch.

fish police...

hehe.. That's funny, but true. Sadly there are way to many of them around here.

Here's my watchman and tiger pistol together, they get along great and dig holes in the sand everywhere. The pistol digs while the watchman, well watches. :D

Just make sure if you keep him your rocks are not sitting on top of the sand, otherwise they could tumble over.
