pistol shrimp

has anyone know of two diffrent pistol shrimp co- habbitating in the same tank?

as I check my tank sat night and saw a candy stripe pistol shrimp in the with a japanese pistol shrimp.
japanese has half of the tank as well as candy stripe pistol has the other
i had heard two diffrent snapping sounds and at first thought it is a Mantis only to find it was another pistol shrimp

Big tank? GENERAL rule of thumb is dont put more then one in a tank. They can be pretty territorial. Some species are more aggressive then others, but I've never personally found much for specific info on each kind. There are numerous people who have multiple pistols in large tanks, but it seems you have to hope they decide to build on opposite ends.
