My mixed reef just turned 4 years old so I broke out the camera for some shots.

Beautifull colonies! Although an LPS forum I wouldnt be terribly offended if you posted a lil closer on that nice tort colony you've grown out :D

Well done Dr. King, thanks for sharing

Thanks for the kind words. I'll look for a picture of the Tort for you Justin74. That piece was the first SPS I put in the tank about 3 1/2 years ago. It started out as a 1" ORA frag and has been fragged many times to keep it in check.

Anyone know if this is a scolie or not? I scored it at my LFS and they weren't sure what it was.

A few of us were just talking about that coral a few days ago :D
The distinction between a Scoly(if it is likely would be S.australis) and a Cynarina is the sceptal walls compact and dense rows are typical of a Scoly, while large gapped septa are distinctive of Cynarina; and what once was a Acanthophyllia deshayesiana was moved into Cynarina as one specie but has been debated regarding the obvious difference between the C. lacrymalis the once A. deshayensiana and suggested a new specie combining the two being Cynarina deshayesiana.

Wow that is confusing..I'll just call it cool looking red/green meat coral then =).

:lol2: agreed! I didn't quite smoothly translate and spat a lil too much out in one mouthfull..Basically, it's either a Scolymia australis; or more likely the topic of discussion, Cynarina deshayesiana(respectively). But I hear ya, cool coral is ALOT easier to say!!
