placement of streams

6' x 3' peninsula tank (3' side is the overflow)

SPS only

both streams would be placed on the 3' overflow wall

i was thinking either the 6100x2 or 6200x2

would the 6200's provide too much velocity in a 6' tank?

You could do either really, the flow reach and velocity is the same, just the width is different. Neither option is ideal as the flow will be very strong on one end and not so strong on the other.
