Planaria Eating Clams?

I have lost a lot of my clams that have been around for a while. I couldn't figure it out until one day when I pulled out a dying clam and saw a bunch of small brown planaria all over the shell. Before I place any clam in tank, I always scrubbed the shells...also I never heard of planaria killing clams...has anyone experienced this? Thanks.

Don't be too sure the planaria were "eating" your clam. Planaria will definitely be present on the shells if you have them in the tank.

I theorize that (and this happened to me) that as the planaria go through their life cycle and die, they will slowly release their toxins and poison the water column. That poisoning is what probably killed your clams. I am pretty sure its what killed my clam, elegance, a lobo, and all my sps. I really, really hate fw's.

I run carbon all the time now "just in case".
