LOL, Trott! Not literally growing, but their stock of LPS should get better as the store continues to progress. ;) Or, at least we'll be able to see more if the water clears. :D

Why was the water so freakin' cloudy in the coral tanks anyway?

The big coral tanks had only had water in them for a couple of weeks. Then you add a bunch of corals and rock in just the past few days, coupled with a lot of flow, and you're bound to stir some stuff up. I think it will be a little while for those tanks to settle in. Speaking of LPS, there was a really big hammer in that one tank that had the variety of corals in it. it just wasn't expanded that day.

Thanks, Shooter! Makes sense. So since they have 3 coral tanks are they going to do one Softie, one LPS, one SPS?

But none of those tanks had remotely any flow in it. I was wondering that too. I think some of the corals would've opened up more with some more flow.

But what do I know?

I understand the water/rock/coral part though.

The one that didn't have anything much in it is, I believe, supposed to eventually be the SPS tank. And that one other pretty much just had zoas in it, but have no idea if that's how they'll keep it all the time.

open til 8 weekdays, 9 on saturday, 7 on sunday.

I believe, can't remember the opening times though. i think it was like 11. But don't put too much faith in those numbers.

Looks good, tanks all have flow now and the SPS tank is still being worked on.

3000 lbs of live rock in the back i think he said. wow

The LPS tank was cloudy because they had an issue they had to fix. I came by later that night and they were redoing some piping to fix an issue and there was little flow going through it until they fixed the piping issue.

He said that there was no flow because that morning before he came in they filled the tank with LPS and he hadn't hooked up the new return pump.

He was rather upset about that it seemed. Plenty of flow now.

Planet Reef is the bomb ? Well Im sure that in a few months in may be the bomb but right now it is just a firecracker going off. I went in there today at lunch time to have a look see. The store has potential and the people there are going to get it there but it kinda looks like a tank that you set up in your house and it has not had a chance to grow yet. The tanks were still a bit cloudy this afternoon. Before everybody jumps up and starts yelling I am just giving my opinion and I am in no way bad mouthing the store.

I think a lot of us are just happy to have another great lfs in town. And, even with cloudy tanks and limited livestock for now, I think it is "the bomb". Just the prices and the front display tank make it awesome, and it's only gonna get better.

Why is it the bomb? Can you expound a little to your statement? .... TIA
what he ment is that when he went to check it out, he got go excited he had to go to the restroom and drop a BOMB!!!

ahhhhhhh I got it now, thanks for the clarification GS. I sure hope the smell did not linger and that is the cause for the cloudy tanks.
