As the title says im looking into getting some new lights for the tank. The tank is 180g with a mix of softies, lps and hopefully some sps. The budget for this is going to be about $1500. I'm currently looking into the Radion XR30w Gen3 pro. 2 maybe 3 of them depending on budget when the time comes.

what do you guys think?

I think that over a 6' tank you will certainly want 3 radions. I had one for 9 months over a frag tank. It ran warmer/hotter than I wanted and it was a big PITA when I wanted to change setting when customers wanted to see coral under different lighting conditions (mostly blue).

I have 2 of the EverGrow/OceanRevive/ReefBreeders 32" Chinese fixtures (IT2080). They have been running 24/7 for over 30 months and zero issues. My reef is mostly sps and some lps and the corals are healthy and growing as well as they did for 3 years under 1000w MH and 160w of t5. And you'll save yourself about $1000. compared to 3 radions.

But that's JMHO and it's your money.

Thank for that info. I've always been a little weary of the off name equipment after one of the t5 fixtures and pumps I bought. will definitely keep those in mind.

kessil 360's would be more in your price range, unless you want all the effects the radions can offer. you cant go wrong with radions if you can afford them. Ive been hearing more and more good stuff about supplementing t5 with radions too. Increased growth and color!
