Plankton Net Ideas Wanted

I am culturing Tigger pods & Artema (baby brine) and wanted to get some netting to strain them out of the culture containers.

Are there any ready made tools with the appropriate sized netting on the market? My internet searches pulled up only big nets designed to be towed behind boats. I'm picturing something like a hand strainer you would use in the kitchen.

Or are there any DIY options? Pantyhose, something from the craft, home supply or kitchen store? I may culture other stuff in the future so I may need a few different grades of netting for them. Any ideas? To those who culture their own food, what are you using?

My Tigger pod culture container has some fine detritus at the bottom and some green water. I was wondering how to transfer them to the DT as cleanly as possible, without introducing the junk at the same time.

It's also quite easy to custom make sieves. Purchase some micron cloth of the mesh size you want, get a PVC pipe coupling for the diameter sieve you want, cut a piece of pipe to just barely fit in the coupling, stretch cloth over coupling, pound pipe piece down into coupling to keep cloth stretched nicely, trim extra, and voila, a sieve :)

I have seives for my brine shrimp and rotifers but i was wondering where would you buy the micron cloth to make your own?

i got the sieve set and rotifer screen from Brine Shrimp Direct. they work well enough for the small scale of what i need.

i remember someone linked to this a while ago:

nitex mesh. you can get it in all kinds of different sizes. it can be pretty pricey, but you are able to order corners and odd cuts to help save on the cost.
