plankton safe mode in sump

Assuming I can provide a constant water level, what would prevent me from running the 9010 in the recirulating plankton safe mode in my sump?

The sump compartment I have in mind is about a 12x17x13 (LxWxH)

Provided you can keep a constant 10-11" of water- nothing.
