Plant Food Spikes?!?

I've read that many people keeping seagrasses use plant food spikes, either solely or in conjunction with an iron suppliment. So, in addition to the iron suppliment I bought from Billsreef, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a 48 pack of Miracle-Gro plant food spikes.

However, after reading the guaranteed analysis on the back, I want to be 100% sure we're talking about the same thing.

In addition to the iron, nitrogen and phosphates (which I would expect) I see 0.05% chelated copper! :eek2: Now, granted, I have no earthly idea how much copper that ammounts to and I do understand that copper is a trace element in salt water. Heck, it's even listed on the back of B-Ionic. What concerns me is that I just spent over $100 on gorgonia and have other corals in the tank along with snails, hermits, crabs and a cleaner shrimp. I plan on increasing the total number of invertibrates over the next few months. I currently have approx. $300 in inverts alone.

Do I REALLY want to add this to the tank?

Miracle Grow's spikes have some metals in them that I wouldn't want to put in a tank. So far Jobe's plant spikes are the only one's I've found that have no metals listed, they're the ones I use. I usually break them into thirds for use in the tank.

The last batch I got from Flower Time. I need to go find more since I'm out and Flower Time is going out of business, not to mention I don't go past any very often. Most likely to be found in a good garden center or maybe an Agway.
