Plate coral and acan

Do they get along? My plate is slowly moving towards my acan and I want to be sure there won't be any casualties. Thanks.

Unless two corals are of the same species and occassionally the same genus, your bet is that there will be some damage. Death? I'm not sure. i would move the Acanthastrea to higher ground.

Moving the Acanthastrea higher up, out of the reach of the plate would be a good idea. Plate corals are not known to be aggressive but I had one flighting with my blastomussa colony.

your acan will no doubt destroy the plate.. acan are some of most aggresive LPS there is..

i mean look at the aggressiveness towards this rock..lol..RandyO has a great pic of an acan attacking the glass it is crazy looking..
