i have a large plate coral and was wondering if Propagation is possible and how do you do it if you can

it's pretty risky, but sometimes you can cut them in half, although it could take years to regain that round shape. the best thing with those is to just enjoy them as they are, in my opinion

fungia type plates can be fragged much like slicing a pizza but as previously mentioned it may not be aethetically pleasing and probably won't regain shape for 10s of years.

If getting too large for your tank best to traded it to someone rather than trying to frag it.

When they are happy and ready they will drop little baby corals. There is an LFS here that has an orange fungia that I have witnessed drop 10's of babies. Keep it happy with the right flow and light, and keep it well fed, let time take care of the rest.

I've seen articles (by Eric Borneman if I'm not mistaken) about people fragging fungia.

Essentially what is done is a "ring" is cut from the outer inch or so of the mother colony. Then that ring is cut into multiple sections.

The mother colony retainst its circular shape and the newly cut colonies are off on their merry way (although it will take them many years to grow into their own circular shape).
