Two of my fish have ich in a reef tank, what is the best stuff out there to treat ich in the tank? I would like to be able to treat them in the tank, rather than take them out. Is this possible?

If it is a reef tank there is no way to treat them in the tank that is actually reliable

You need to take them out and put them through hyposalination

no. you can feed them garlic (grocery store; crushed) but that's about as effective as it gets. bsagecko is right.

QT before putting fish in main tank is a must so you don't have to deal with this now. Hyposalinity and copper are two of the three PROVEN AND DOCUMENTED methods that will cure ich in QT, NOT in the main tank. The other is tank transfer method. No other method(even garlic) has ever been proven to be effective and safe to perform in QT OR in the main tank.

GET the UV Sterilizer. It will take care the whole tank and you don't have to take the fish out so you won't stress them. It's the most effective better Kick ich. I use it in my reef set up. No problem at all.

Garlic Guard seemed to work reasonably well in my reef tank. Its not a cure all but really noticed a difference and within a day or two. Also.... a good UV sterilizer works wonders as well.

you cant put copper in a DT so if the food has copper in it when it breaks down it will release copper into the tank...........

Garlic is not reliable.......and the ich will look like it is going away only to come back when it goes through another life cycle...

UV sterlizer will not get rid of ich ( and they cost big money...hypo is free other than the salt)

I personally use a transfer and hypo hybrid for treatment.........

You need a QT and you need to treat them now........if it is a tang it is going to need medical attention ASAP so you dont lose it......

Most of the time, when I see a spot or two on a fish, I wait a while and just make sure to provide a good diet for the fish. For me, this has always succeeded in ridding the fish of what ails it, but I've never had a big outbreak. In your case, how did this come about, and how certain are you that it's ich? I see some people make kneejerk reactions to one or two little spots, and usually that's more detrimental than the problem would otherwise be.

ive never heard that 1 before, true a uv can be useful, however it will not treat ich already established in the reef, copper or hypo is the only methods i know about, i have heard about tank transfer but cant comment as i know nothing about it, however dont be fooled thinking a uv will do the job:)
