Please help, I need a fish doctor.

Honestly, every time I loose a fish or a coral, it really makes me sad. More so than I am comfortable admitting.

Thank you for the sentiment.

Sorry about your fish. I get sad also. Sit in front of your tank and look at all the other wonderful living things or hug your dog or cat (if you have any). This makes me better.

He can come over and hug my dog if he doesnt have any. :p

Not trying to make light of the situation, just trying to cheer you up.:jester:

Id take it pretty hard too if i had an achilles that died on me. Thats one of my top 3 all time fish. My next set up is going to be developed around having enough space to house one of those guys. Ive been wanting one for probably 5 years now.

Thanks. My wife said the same thing last night. She reminded me if how well the tank is doing and how things have gone according to plan. Kept me focused on the positive.

I have made a few calls and think I may have a lead on another Achilles, a juvenile. I'll keep you posted. Now that the PBT and orange strip are gone, I have to decide on the third tang.

For now I have the juvenile mimic (chocolate). He will be joined by the Achilles and maybe ???

Also keep in mind that an Achilles is considered an "expert" level fish, so don't feel bad. They can be more sensitive. They need lots of water and tons of flow. Don't let it get you down though!

and people said a mandarin cant be kept in a nano tank..
i guess i proved them all wrong. :O

Thanks.

I had an Achilles for four years and loved him. The one we just lost was doing great for weeks, until the PBT gave him the business end.

As for Mandarins, I have a male green that eats mysis and brine out of the water column. It is so cool watching him chase them down.

Sorry I've been offline and didn't see this until today. Dave's advice was spot on. There really wasn't anything you could have done that you didn't do, so at least you gave it your best shot.

Thank you very much for the response. I still feel sad, but am optimistic that with lessons learned, I will do better with the next one.
