Please help ID this coral. Good or bad?

Hi,
I'm rather new to the hobby and need help identifying this coral.
At first I thought it was growth from the pipe organ frag (white one in pic).
It's light brown and has tiny "feathers" spreading pretty quickly over the past few months.

Any advice would be appreciated. Hope the pics are clear enough.

Thanks in advance!

They are hydroids. Not a coral; closer related to jellyfish. They can be very invasive, and can sting the heck out of just about any coral (as youve seen). Unfortunately, they can be very difficult to get rid of. I would suggest removing the affected rocks, as odds of thoroughly erradicating the hydroids any other way are slim. Sorry...

Thanks for the quick response

Thanks for the quick response

Hormigaquatica,
Thanks for the response. I've research hydroids and you're probably right.
Guess I'm doing a major cleaning and redoing the aquascape this weekend.

Dang infested pipe organ frag!

Always learning something new with this hobby...Anything that grows quickly is probably not a good thing...aiptasia, majano, and now hydroids...

There's got to be a "what to detect and avoid" list out there somewhere...
