Then today these 2 new spots appeared and the previous 2 disappeared. What is going on? My LFS says to leave it alone as long as he is still eating and swimming and that he'll take care of himself. True, he is still eating and swimming, no heavy breathing etc. I am worried but I don't want to play doctor if I don't need to. I can't compare my pictures with online pictures because the available online pictures of Marine Ich shows only severely illed fishes while mine seems to be minor. What do you think it is? Pimple? Marine Ich? Something else? Do I just stay calm and let it play itself out? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Doesn't look too bad... how long have you the fish and how old it the tank? I keep a product called Herbtana on hand and at the first sign of the slightest spot add it to the DT. Won't harm corals or inverts. Every time I've done this all comes right. I have a 185 g mixed reef.

My B/W occ. had something like that. It was just a few tiny spots with a big one on his lip. I put him in QT in hypo. He's only been there a few weeks and the spots are gone, but the ich life cycle lasts 8 weeks-ish. So he will stay in hypo until then. I'll slowly (over a few weeks) bring him back up to 1.026 sg (sg of my DT). You don't need to slowly bring him down to hypo (1.010 BTW). .02

Ok thanks. After lots of thinking and online snoopin' I came to a conclusion: Wait it out to see how it turns out. Thanks again.
